St. Anne’s was opened in 1907 when the Sisters of Charity of St. Paul were invited by Lady Kerr to take up work of caring for the aged and infirm.  We are registered with the Care Inspectorate (formerly the Care Commission) in East Lothian.

St. Anne’s is situated in a quiet residential area in the town of Musselburgh and the main shopping center is approximately half a mile away.   We cater for 37 Residents, male and female, in a single-story building.  The Sisters of Charity of St. Paul are trustees of St. Anne’s. In 1999 the management of the Home was transferred to a lay Manager.

While each Resident has their own private room, they are encouraged to make them both homely and comfortable to suit their personal needs.   The option is available to interact with other Residents.

Services of the multidisciplinary team are available to all Residents.   Church, local community groups and neighbours provide visits and entertainment to the Residents both within and outside the Home.   Staff also participate and lead recreational activity in bingo, external exercise classes, sing-a-long, etc. particularly on special occasions.

A modern and well-equipped dining room provides for a relaxed and friendly environment at meal times and all nutritional needs are catered for, providing a choice of menu and special diets, where required.  Refreshments are also available for visitors.
